Associate Professor Jon Adams

Dr Jon Adams Dr Adams is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Population Health at the University of Queensland, Australia and an NHMRC PHCRED Mid-Career Research Fellow. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Healthcare Studies, University of Leeds, UK, Associate Editor of the international peer-reviewed journal Complementary Therapies in Medicine and Director of the ALSWH complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) sub-study.

Jon was awarded his PhD in health social science in 2000 (University of Edinburgh) and has provided methodological expertise in qualitative and mixed-method design for numerous national and international health projects. His research interests include: primary care delivery and access; the practice and consumption of CAM; self-care and patient decision-making; rural health; and workforce issues in healthcare provision.
